Recycle your Furniture & Housewares 

The Community Warehouse Project has the goal of eliminating bulk waste by collecting gently used furniture and housewares and then distributing these items to families, individuals, and veterans in need throughout Chester County. Donating your items is a great way to recycle perfectly usable items instead of them going to the landfill. 

The warehouse is located at 800 E. Virginia Avenue, Building 3, West Chester, PA 19380 near Henderson High School. Donations must be pre-approved by sending photos to donations@communitywarehouseproject.com or to our phone at 484-473-4360. They are open for drop-offs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am to 12pm, and everything third Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm. Other drop off dates are available by appointment.

Non-Flushable Materials Damage Drains & Sewers

As sewage treatment facilities have been dealing with an increase in non-flushable materials clogging filters and equipment, residents are encouraged to only flush toilet paper and human waste. Disinfecting wipes and many other items – including those labeled as “flushable” or “biodegradable” – should be disposed of in the trash.

Support for older Adults & People with Disabilities

People with disabilities can find assistance through their local Center for Independent Living. Additionally, the Eldercare Locator can help people with disabilities connect with their local Aging and Disability Resource Center.

Help for Victims & Survivors of Domestic Violence

The National Domestic Violence Hotline provides lifesaving tools and immediate support to empower victims and survivors to find safety and live free of abuse. The Hotline also provides support to friends and family members who are concerned about a loved one. The Hotline can be reached by calling 1.800.799.SAFE (7233), and live chat is available on their website if calling is not an option. Both can be reached 24/7/365.
