In the summer of 2022 East Pikeland held a two-night Compost Workshop for residents. The first 20 households to register and attend received a free vermicomposting system thanks to a zero-waste grant from the Chester County Solid Waste Authority. The goal of the workshop was to educate people about the options they have on their properties and in their homes to reduce their waste. The information shared at the workshop hopefully empowered them to take on composting, reduce their waste, and repurpose yard waste!
