Matt Gisondi
(Parks & Open Space Maintenance Steward)
Matt

Matt Gisondi joins the Township in a new position as the Park and Open Space Maintenance Steward (or Steward). The Steward is tasked with overseeing the health and wellbeing of all of the Township’s parks, trails, and open space facilities. As the Township’s recreation facilities continue to expand with the new Hidden River Park and Preserve and Ridge Road Park, the Steward will be an integral member in ensuring that the Township is creating and maintaining healthy habitat and ecosystems on all of our properties.

Matt grew up in Lansdale and attended Jefferson University where he graduated with a BS in Environmental Sustainability with a concentration in Sustainable Landscaping. After graduation he took a position with the Lansdale Borough as a GIS technician. Deciding to pursue a career path focused more on resource conservation and land management led Matt to take a position with Stroud Water Research Center as a Watershed Restoration Program Intern and eventually as a Program Assistant. While at Stroud, Matt helped to improve regional watershed health through riparian planting projects and expanding restoration education via in-field research. Matt has also completed Mt Cuba Center’s 158-hour Ecological Gardening Certification course, and then created his own land restoration and environmental community organization, Restore Our Roots, in Downingtown.

East Pikeland is excited to welcome Matt and hopes to utilize his unique skills and experiences to advance our own park and open space properties, making them healthy and safe for all users for many generations to come.

Matt can be reached via email at mgisondi@eastpikeland.org.
