Planning Commission Meeting on June 11th is CANCELED.

This past weekend a large sink hole opened up on Spring Hollow Road just past Spring Lane.  Due to the continuing deterioration of Spring Hollow Road, the township has made the decision to completely close the road just past Spring Lane.   Signs and barricades will be posted.

For residents below Spring Lane, access will be completely prohibited coming from Route 724.  In order to access your home, you will need to come in from the Spring City Road end of Spring Hollow Road.

For residents above Spring Lane, you will still be able to reach your home from Route 724, but not coming from Spring City Road.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  We are working on a plan and schedule to address the problem.

Beginning May 20 - Valley Forge Road (also known as Township Line Road in front of Redners) will be closed from Route 23 to Township Line Road for a PECO gas line project.  The closure will last until mid-August 2024.

Beginning June 3rd - Schuylkill Road will be closed between Hares Hill Road and Spring Hollow Road at night (between 8PM and 6AM) for a PECO gas line project.  The project is expected to be completed in October 2024.
There will be intermittent road paving work on Kimberton Rd starting in July. This could cause through traffic road closures.

VFSA Sewer Rates to Increase $10 per Quarter - April 1, 2024

The Valley Forge Sewer Authority services about 6,800 customers within Charlestown, East Pikeland and Schuylkill townships.  Quarterly service fees paid by users are the primary source of revenue to fund the conveyance and treatment of wastewater. All revenue generated from your sewer bills are used to fund operation, maintenance and replacement cost related to providing sewer service to customers. Although the Authority has not increased its rates for more than 25 years, rising cost to convey and treat wastewater supports the need to increase quarterly rates. Effective April 1, 2024, the new quarterly sewer rental rate will increase from $75.00 to $85.00. The last rate increase was in 1996.
