The Public Works Department in EPT is staffed with 6 full-time employees. They are responsible for maintaining almost 40 miles of roads and over 300 acres of township owned property and parklands. (left to right Shaun Director of Operations, Ray, Matt, Steve Road Foreman, Brad, Gene)
Starting January 1, 2025, Contractors who choose to dump in East Pikeland Townships Recycling Yard must abide by the following rules and pay the following fees. If you are a contractor and you wish to dump in our Township yard waste dumping facility, you have two options:
Non-Permit Dumping - $60
- Payment is per load each time you dump
- Payment must be paid upfront
2025 Permit Dumping - $1,700
- Permit expires December 31st, 2025 at 3pm
- Must fill out form and pay in advance
- Other contractors cannot work off of your 2025 permit
- Must fill out sign-in sheet for each load located in the mailbox attached to the salt shed or next to the man door at the maintenance shop.
Location Rules
In Location A – Compost Area
- Open M-F 7am-3pm, Sat 8am-12pm April through November
- Inspect your loads before dumping – Grass clippings & Leaves ONLY
- It is recommended to shred leaves before dumping
- No ornamental grasses
In Location B – Tree & Other Yard Debris
- Open M-F 7am-3pm, Sat 8am-12pm April through November
- Inspect your load before dumping – grindable waste ONLY
- If you dump anything not grindable, you will be responsible for removing it from Township property
- Chips are accepted and the dumping location will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The Township reserves the right to suspend chip dumping at anytime without refund.
East Pikeland Township Recycling Yard Rules & Regulations
All contractors must pay the dumping fee or have their permit paid in full before dumping in the yard. Contractors are responsible for inspecting their loads before dumping. Contractors must also use the sign-in sheet for every load they drop off.
The following materials are NOT accepted in our yard waste dumping facility:
- Stumps, trunks, logs, and branches more than 10 inches in diameter and 6 feet in length
- Topsoil, fill dirt, asphalt, stones, rocks, bricks, pavers, concrete blocks or slabs, pressure treated lumber, pallets, wooden fence post/rails, plywood, or any wood with nails or metal in it
- Trash: plastic bottles, cups, bags, wire, cardboard, etc.
- Bamboo or Ailanthus (aka Tree of Heaven)
- Any trees or branches infected with insects (spotted lantern fly, carpenter ants, termites, emerald ash bore, gypsy moths)
Penalties
Any violation committed can and may result in the loss of your permit with NO REFUND. Loss of permit means you will no longer have access to our facility
